On 2 January 2023, in Monywa town (Monywa township, Monywa district, Sagaing region), a combined force of the Fight for People, the Chindwin Attack Force and five unidentified local defense forces fired six rounds of 120mm mortar into the compound of the North-Western Regional Military Command at around 3:30 am. A building within the compound was damaged. Casualties unknown.
