On 1 January 2023, in Taw Pu village (coded as Taw Pu (North)) (Monywa township, Monywa district, Sagaing region), a combined force of Chindwin Attack Force, Monywa The Boys, 5/Teachers People Defense Force, Monywa Fighter Group (MFG), Spring Dove and Lightning Weapon People Defense Force - Monywa (LWPDF) fired 30 rounds of improvised mortar shells at military soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee stationed in the village at about 9:30 pm. Casualties unknown.
