On 21 December 2022, in Nyaung Pin Kwin village (Tanintharyi township, Myeik district, Tanintharyi region), more than 30 military soldiers from the IB 561 fired heavy artillery at the village at around 8 am and the shells hit and killed a 17-year-old girl and injured five others, according to DVB. Another source Khit Thit Media reported that 17-year-old girl was killed and other two were injured. RFA reported that the military's shelling hit and injured four men.
