On 2 January 2023, in Kone Thar village (Paungde township, Pyay district, Bago-West region), the Pyay District PDF battalion 3601 - unit 5 carried out a mine attack against two Myanmar military soldiers stationed at a security checkpoint located in front of the irrigation department at around 1:35 pm. The mine attack was carried out under the Operation 'Nan Htike Aung' under the NUG. A military soldier was killed and another injured.
