On 23 December 2022, in Pyan Kya village of Tabayin township (coded as Tabayin) (Shwebo district, Sagaing region), the Myanmar military based in Pyan Kya village fired artillery rounds into the village indiscriminately at around 3 pm. Three children were injured by an artillery shell, and two of them sustained critical injuries.
