On 21 December 2022, between Koe Pin and Pu Tee Hpyu villages (coded as Koe Pin) (Thabeikkyin township, Pyinoolwin district, Mandalay region), a combined force of Kyar Hnyat People's Defense Force, Lightning Guerrilla Force and the Thabeikkyin PDF (PaKaPha) attacked four motorcycles carrying five military soldiers including a major and three policemen on their way back to Kyar Hnyat checkpoint with four mines at about 6:26 pm. NUG reported that a total of seven military soldiers and policemen were killed whereas Khit Thit Media reported that a total of four military soldiers and policemen were killed and three others were injured. Fatalities coded as 4, using the lowest estimate.
