On 26 December 2022, in Kawt Pyin village of Kyaukkyi township (Taungoo district, Bago-East region), three heavy artillery shells fired by the Myanmar military troops from 599th Light Infantry Division (LID) landed on a house and killed a child at around 10 pm. Two elderly men were also injured by the shelling.
