On 17 December 2022, in Kar Ka Law village of Kanbalu township (Kanbalu district, Sagaing region), about 120 Myanmar military soldiers from 368th Light Infantry Division (LIB) and Pyu Saw Htee members fired heavy artillery shells and set fire to a monastery and a local clinic. There were no casualties.
