On 18 December 2022, in Hpar Kya village of Kawkareik township (Kawkareik district, Kayin state), seven 107 mm heavy artillery shells fired by the Myanmar military troops landed in the village at around 1 am. The artillery shells damaged two residential properties. There were no casualties.
