On 18 December 2022, in Kawkareik town of Kawkareik township (Kawkareik district, Kayin State), the Myanmar military forces carried out airstrikes about 20 times in southern part of Kawkareik town between 12 am and 1 am in the early morning targeting the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA). The airstrikes destroyed a house. There were no casualties.
