On 15 December 2022, in Lein Pin village of Kyaukkyi township (Taungoo district, Bago-East region), heavy artillery shells fired by the Myanmar military troops landed in the village, killing a 50-year-old man and injuring a 48-year-old villager at around 5:30 pm. The Myanmar military troops had clashed with KNLA on previous days around the area.
