Grenade event in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gulbahar in Peshawar area, Pakistan on Sun 11th December 2022

PESHAWAR: Unidentified persons hurled a grenade at the house of a businessman in Gulbahar area of the provincial capital on Sunday. However, the inmates remained unhurt as the grenade did not explode. According to the police, Haji Javed had received extortion calls recently, and he been asked to take precautionary measures. “Haji Javed had received calls and some persons demanded extortion from him. We had advised him that he should take precautionary measures while police investigated the case,” SP city Abdul Salam Khalid told Dawn. He said the unexploded grenade was later defused by the bomb disposal unit. The SP said a case had been registered with the counter-terrorism department police station.
