On 7 December 2022, in Nam Sa Lat village (Hseni township, Lashio district, Shan-North state), an artillery shell fired by an unknown armed group exploded in the village at about 8 am and hit the house of three family members, killing a mother and son and seriously injuring her daughter and a male neighbor. According to Khit Thit Media, locals claimed that the shelling targeted the military (LIB 568) base located near the house.
