On 5 December 2022, in Mudon town of Mudon township (Mawlamyine district, Mon state), a bomb explosion occurred at the No.2 Ward Administration Office at around 11 am. Four civilians, including a head of 100 households and a staff member of the general administration department were injured in the explosion. According to Myanmar Pressphoto Agency, the head of 100 households died from the injury he sustained from the explosion. No group claimed responsibility for the explosion.
