On 3 December 2022, six people, including 1-2 Sikh men from a minority group in Afghanistan, were injured in an IED explosion close to a shop of a Sikh man near the Sikh temple (Darmsal) in Jalalabad city, Nangarhar. IS took responsibility for the attack while claiming the wounding of two Sikh men in the explosion.
