One more body of a slain Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadre was recovered from Pomara Forest area under Mitrapur Police Station limits in Bijapur District of Chhattisgarh on November 26, taking the death toll to four, reports ommcomnews.com. Earlier, it was reported that three Maoist cadres were killed with Security Forces (SFs) in Pomra Forest under Mirtur Police Station limits in Bijapur District on November 26. Security personnel seized a large number of explosives and guns during the operation; however, the identities of the slain Maoists have not been ascertained yet, informed Bijapur Superintendent of Police (SP), Anjnei Barji. The Police officials said a huge cache of arms and ammunition including .303 rifle, one. 315 rifle, two country made weapons, explosives, Maoists camping materials, and other daily use articles were also recovered from the spot, adds newsriveting.com. “Joint teams of security forces were out on an anti-Maoist operation after we had specific inputs about Maoists’ gathering in the forest. The team included the personnel of District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF),” Inspector General of Police (IGP), Bastar range, Sundarraj P said in a statement, adding that the Police had information about the presence of ‘divisional committee members, (DCM)’s of CPI-Maoist, Mohan Kadti and Sumitra along with 30-40 colleagues hiding near Pomara-Hallur Forest, adds Hindustan Times.
