The bomb squad rushed to a Midland beauty spot after a First World War artillery shell was found at the Lickey Hills. The team from the Ministry of Defence was called in this morning (November 22) after the discovery. It was checked by experts and deemed safe. Police were also called to the scene and shared images of the shell on social media. Officers said the finder would "use it as a door stop" after it had been deemed safe. Hagley and Rubery Police tweeted saying: "Interesting morning waiting for the MoD bomb disposal team. A WW1 artillery shell found at the Lickey Hills. "It has been checked and deemed safe so will now be used as a door stop by the owner."
