On 16 March 2020, an IED targeted an AMISOM UPDF convoy traveling near KM50 (Afgooye, Lower Shabelle). The same convoy was later hit by another device near Buufow Bacad. Unverified social media reports suggest two vehicles were destroyed during the two events.
