On 23 November 2022, near Sa Baw Hmaw village of Hpakant township (coded as Hpakant) (Mohnyin district, Kachin state), the KIA attacked a military vehicle carrying eight soldiers with mines in the KIA Brigade 9 Battalion 6 controlled area at around 1 pm, killing one military soldier and injuring five others. Another source Kachin News Group reported that the mine attack killed three military soldiers and injured five others. Fatalities coded as 1, using the lowest estimate.
