On 21 November 2022, near Chaung Wa village (Katha township, Katha district, Sagaing region), the Myanmar military launched airstrikes with three fighter jets on the area near the Kauk Kwayt Creek located within the territory of the KIA Brigade 8 at around 11 am. A young girl from Kha Paung village was injured by airstrikes.
