SAA event in Chhattisgarh, Bijapur District area, India on Sun 4th December 2022

Security Forces (SFs) recovered a US-made weapon following a gun battle with Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres in Bijapur District of Chhattisgarh, in which Four Naxalites including two women were gunned down at Pomra forest on November 26, Police said on December 4, reports The Pioneer. Superintendent of Police (SP), Anjaneya Vaishnav said, at least four weapons were recovered in the operation, of which one is a US-made M1 carbine. The barrel of the foreign-made weapon is small compared to other assault rifles and it is convenient to handle, and the Police have launched a probe to ascertain how and from where the Maoists procured such a weapon.
