WWII-era bomb disposal operation prompting disruptions on A2 motorway in Graz, Austria, Dec. 8. Evacuations, travel disruptions ongoing. Authorities are responding to the discovery of an unexploded World War II-era bomb to the south of Graz, Dec. 8. A security zone has been established and local people have been evacuated. The motorway A2 has been closed to traffic and diversions are in place. Flights from the nearby Graz airport (GRZ) have been temporarily suspended. Authorities will deactivate the bomb during the afternoon of Dec. 8. Lingering disruptions are likely as traffic and flight operations return to normal. Avoid the area. Plan alternative routes if necessary and allow extra time to reach destinations in the affected area. Check flights if traveling via GRZ airport.
