The convoy of the governor, Colonel Major Amara Doumbia, on its way to Bamako was attacked on 30 September 2022, at around 10:30 am, between Kaloumba and Mourdiah in the forest of the snake commonly called "Gringalet". The attackers detonated an IED, followed by a hail of gunfire. Fortunately, they were thwarted, thanks to the professionalism and composure of the FDS who, through a vigorous response, were able to drive the assailants away, with several terrorists neutralised. Meanwhile, the convoy suffered minor material damage and no loss of life.
