Police said Saturday that officers foiled an attempted bombing at a popular restaurant in southern Israel a few days earlier in a suspected criminal dispute. Police said a large explosive device planted in the restaurant in a town in the Beer Tuvia regional council was neutralized Thursday by bomb squad officers. Police said they suspect the bomb was planted as part of a criminal dispute between the restaurant's owner and unnamed mobsters, "due to the personal relationship he had."
