Unknown event in Catalonia, Somorrostro, Barcelona area, Spain on Wed 20th July 2022

The beach of Somorrostro does not really look like it should, this morning. Part of the area is off limits and guarded by Mossos d'Esquadra and Guardia Civil, because of the presence of an unidentified object. Spotted Wednesday afternoon, it is located in the sand, about one meter from the shore, between the waves. According to information from BetevŽ, it would be circular and would measure at least 60 centimeters in diameter. For the authorities, it could be a military device dating from the civil war, and the hypothesis of an explosive is not ruled out. The authorities have activated a protocol and evacuated the area to 300 meters around, on the beach and offshore, and it should remain inaccessible today (Thursday).
