Undefined Explosive Device (UED) event in Cauca, Suarez area, Colombia on Fri 17th June 2022

A bomb squad officer has suffered injuries to his hands and legs after an explosive device detonated just as the uniformed officer was inspecting the suspicious package near the police station in the municipality of Suarez, in the department of Cauca, Colombia. According to official information, the victim is Deputy Superintendent Yorman CortŽs Acosta, who escaped death in the act and was immediately transferred in a van to a medical center due to the seriousness of his injuries. The population had denounced the presence of the vehicle in the place, which is why the authorities came to verify if the motorcycle represented a danger to the community. In the video, shared by local residents, it can be seen how the uniformed officer approaches with a special suit at the exact moment when the explosion occurs.
