Five people, including a sous-prŽfet and a mayor, were killed on Wednesday after their vehicle was blown up by an explosive device in Cameroon's bloody separatist conflict in the English-speaking southwest. "The sous-prŽfet's convoy was the target of an attack by secessionists who planted explosives" on the axis between Ekondo-Titi and Bekora, in the South West region, a gendarmerie officer said on condition of anonymity. The victims included "the sous-prŽfet, the mayor of Ekondo-Titi, a gendarme, a local official of the ruling party and the sous-prŽfet's driver," a member of the local administration said.
