A device exploded, without causing any casualties, as an Ivorian gendarmerie vehicle passed by in Kafolo near the border with Burkina Faso (north), the scene of a recent attack that left two people dead, the army announced on Monday. "In the morning of 12 April 2021, an incident occurred on the Petit Nassian - Kafolo section about two kilometres from the latter locality. It was the detonation of an explosive charge as a national gendarmerie liaison vehicle passed by," said a statement from the army's headquarters. "This incident did not cause any casualties or injuries among the personnel on board. As for the vehicle, it suffered external scratches, without major damage," the statement said.
