Mine event in Sourou, Nar area, Burkina Faso on Fri 15th July 2022
15th July 2022
Between armed attacks and the explosion of mines, Burkina Faso is not yet out of the woods. On the night of Friday, July 15 to Saturday, July 16, 2022, the bridges in the towns of Wouss and Nar were blown up by a squad of armed men who cut off the road link between the town of Kaya, located in the north-central part of Dori in the Sahel. "Armed terrorist groups have again blown up the Nar bridge on National Road No. 1, and yesterday it was the Wouss bridge. This time, the town of Dori is completely cut off," said "Sahel Security". On the various images that have been shared on social networks, we can see that the destruction of these bridges has made it impossible to reach the capital in Dori. The destruction of this bridge makes the road impassable, as a source told RFI: "The road is not passable. The Nar bridge has been destroyed once again," said a transporter.
