On 1 April 2020, a booby-trapped motorcycle detonated at the entrance of the market of Basira town in Deir-ez-Zor. The explosion, which was meant to target a QSD military vehicle that was due to pass through the area, resulted in the injuring of a woman and a young girl. No fatalities were reported.
