The District Police exchanged fire with the cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) during a search operation conducted against the Maoists at Ganaikhad Forest area in Piri under Garu Police Station area in ??Latehar District of Jharkhand on November 10, reports prabhatkhabar.com. During search after the encounter the SFs recovered a huge quantity of explosives including INSAS (Indian Small Arms System) assault rifle, magazine kept hidden by the Maoists from Ganaikhad Forest in Piri.
