Police rushed to a house after reports a suspected World War II bomb had been found. There were fears of an unexploded bomb in the garden of a house on Ferney Road, East Barnet on Saturday evening (November 12). Officers were called to the address at 4.30pm and examined the item. A police van was seen parked outside the address while officers determined whether the object was dangerous however the incident was stood down and declared a false alarm. It is difficult to get an accurate estimate of unexploded bombs in the UK, however the Ministry of Defence reported in 2018 that 450 World War II bombs about 60 a year - were made safe or defused since 2010 by disposal teams.
