On 11 November 2022, an IED planted by Al Shabaab detonated, targeting government security forces (SNA) convoy patrolling between Balcad and Xawaadleey village (Balcad, Middle Shabelle). One soldier was killed and four others were injured. Al Shabaab claimed responsibility.
