On 6 November 2022, in Mai Ja Yang town of Myitkyina township (Myitkyina District, Kachin State), the Myanmar military troops stationed on Yaw Yung Bum mountain fired heavy artillery shells at Mai Ja Yang town at around 1 am. Two artillery shells landed on a field in the town. There were no casualties.
