On 9 November 2022, in La Ei village (Pekon township, Taunggyi district, Shan-South state), the Myanmar military fired artillery rounds into the village without an armed clash occurring at night. Two artillery shells landed in the village and injured four IDPs including an 8-year-old child. One of the victims sustained critical injuries.
