On 10 November 2022, in Ta Khun Taing village (Kyainseikgyi township, Kawkareik district, Kayin state), a combined column of the Myanmar military IB-32 and the Border Guard Force battalion 1021 stationed at the village police station fired artillery rounds into the village at around 9 am without an armed clash occurring. A 40-year-old woman, who was working at the rubber farm, sustained injuries in her head by an artillery shell.
