On 9 November 2022, Ethiopian Airforce conducted a drone strike against OLF Shane in Mendi, Mendi town (West Wellega, Oromia). The strike hit OLF Shane vehicles and killed at least 2 fighters and 16 civilians on the road (hit by the drone debris) and wounded several others, raising the number of fatalities to 18.
