Enemy ammunition, abandoned in forests and fields, mines, rockets and other explosive objects - every day, seven days a week, explosive experts of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Sumy region conduct inspections and demining of the area. Almost every day, officers of the explosive department of the Main Office of the National Police in Sumy region, together with forensic experts, carry out visits to the scene in order to document the consequences of shelling of the border territories of the region by the Russian military. Yesterday they visited one of the settlements of Okhtyrka district, where the shelling took place the day before. "In the afternoon, a Russian helicopter fired unguided missiles at the outskirts of the village from its territory without crossing the border. Fortunately, there were no casualties. One of the missiles did not explode, but fell near the road," said Oleh Yevlash, head of the explosive department of the National Police in Sumy region. After inspecting the site of the air strike, police sappers came to the conclusion that the attack was carried out by C-13 missiles. This is a Russian powerful aviation projectile weighing from 57 to 75 kilograms (depending on the model), designed to destroy buildings, equipment and people. "The unexploded shell had a detonated fuse, so it posed an extreme danger to others. Our sappers neutralized it and took it to a safe place for destruction," said Oleh Yevlash. The police of Sumy region emphasize that when receiving a message about an air raid, a threat of air or artillery strikes, citizens should take such information seriously and responsibly. If you are at home, go down to the basement, cellar or other shelter. Be sure to move away from windows, use the rule of "two walls", if you still decide to stay in the apartment or house. If the signal of an air raid caught you on the street, immediately leave the open area, go to the nearest bomb shelter or other shelter, and if the explosions are already happening nearby, do not run, but immediately fall into the nearest depression in the ground to protect yourself from debris.
