On 30 October 2022, an IED planted by Al Shabaab detonated, targeting a government security forces (SNA) and Macawiisley clan militia convoy, followed by a clash initiated with RPGs and an exchange of heavy gunfire from both sides in the vicinity of BuqGosar village near Belet Weyne town (Belet Weyne, Hiraan). One soldier was killed and four others were injured. Al Shabaab claimed responsibility.
