On 3 November 2022, in Zee Ka Nar village (Kanbalu township, Kanbalu district, Sagaing region), military troops stationed in Koe Taung Boet village fired heavy weapons indiscriminately at the nearby villages at 2 pm and the shells hit a house in the Zee Ka Nar village, killing a 13-year-old boy and injuring two other family members including his grandmother, his 7-year-old sister and a female relative in her 60s. According to the most recent source of RFA, the boy was killed on the spot and his grandmother died from injuries the next morning. Fatalities coded as 2, using the most recent estimate.
