On 2 November 2022, PKK-YJA STAR militants carried out remote explosive attacks targeting Turkish army soldiers in Gire Sehid Axin and Sehid Beritan areas (Kurdish names) in Xakurke (Wadi Khakurik) region of Erbil. HPG (PKK) claimed a total of 10 Turkish soldiers were killed and 3 others were injured in the attacks.
