On March 2, 2020, PKK militants carried out a rocket attack on an armored vehicle carrying the personnel of Gurbulak Customs Directorate near Gurbulak border gate in Dogubeyazit, Agri. The driver died on the scene, and two other customs officers also died later in the hospital, succumbing to their wounds. 34 other personnel in the vehicle were also wounded.
