On 23 February 2020, in Paik Thei Ward, Kyauktaw Town, in Kyauktaw Township, in Rakhine State, a column of Myanmar military travelling to the Kispanadi bridge fired gunshots. After the gunshots, an artillery shell landed into a house in the town and injured three people.
