On 26 February 2020, in Aung Pa Village, in Hpa Yar Pyin Aung Pa Village Tract, in Buthidaung Township, in Rakhine State, a Muslim man who was tending the cows near Nyaung Chaung border police checkpoint was hit by stray pieces of the artillery shell and killed. However, it was unclear whether he was hit and killed by the artillery shell or he stepped on a landmine and the explosion killed him.
