On 15 March 2020, a military patrol unit was dispatched from Suan Ma Phrao village, tambon Su-Ngai Kolok, Su-Ngai Kolok district of Narathiwat, Thailand upon hearing gunshots from a clash at a nearby security post. Malay Muslim Separatists detonated an IED planted on the road when the team was passing but no injuries were reported.
