On 9 March 2020, unknown attackers planted an explosive device near Kober bridge (Khartoum North) which detonated as the Prime Ministers' motorcade approached. The PM was unhurt, and one security officer (recorded as police) was wounded on the shoulder. Several suspects have been arrested. Initial reports suggested that weapons were fired upon the motorcade, although this is not confirmed.
