On 4 Jan 2019, in the border between the Santiago and Providencia communes, a bomb exploded in a bus station. 4 people were injured and the eco-militant group ITS (Individualists Tending toward the Wild) claimed responsibility for the attack. According to witnesses and contrary to the official version, 3 explosions took place and 5 individuals were injured.
