On 3 March 2020, four soldiers were killed and two others wounded by the explosion of an IED between Banh and Koumbri (Banh, Loroum). The device was likely planted by JNIM militants. Another six soldiers were wounded, including one severely, by the explosion of an IED as they travelled to secure the first unit.
