On 10 February 2020, in Gar Pu Village, in Kyauktaw Township, in Rakhine State, a 9-year-old boy was killed and five other children were injured after accidently stepping on a bomb. However, other media accounts reported that children were playing with an unexploded ordnance and it went off when they hit it.
