A man being booked into the Cass County Jail over the weekend is now facing additional charges after officers say they found what appeared to be an explosive device in his backpack.According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, the Red River Valley Bomb Squad was called to the jail around 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, after an officer first found the suspicious device and then a police dog trained in bomb detection alerted on it.According to the sheriff’s office, bomb squad technicians were able to deactivate and destroy the device. Nobody was injured.
